Pupils at Bishop Douglass continue to exceed in GCSE results
Congratulations to the Class of 2023 at Bishop Douglass who have achieved excellent GCSE results , with an impressive 9-4 grades across a wide range of subjects, including English and Maths.
An impressive 85% of pupils achieved 4-9 in English, while 81% of pupils achieved 4-9 in Maths. This pertains to a significant increase in attainment across the board.
Headline figures this year continue an upward trajectory for Bishop Douglass, surpassing the achievements of last year’s GCSE results and following on from a hugely successful set of 2023 A Level and BTEC results at the Bishop Douglass Sixth Form.
Amongst the many success stories Manuel celebrated an outstanding portfolio of 999999999 (nine grade 9s) including English Language, Literature and Maths – the highest results possible in these subjects. Manuel commented: “I cannot praise the school enough for encouraging me to work hard and to strive to do my best. The teachers at Bishop Douglass really helped me to achieve my potential – the extra classes and revision sessions they put on made a big difference.” He returns to Bishop Douglass 6th Form to study History, Politics and Sociology.
Nadie achieved an impressive 9988888 and praised her teachers for their ongoing support which extended beyond the classroom in interventions outside school hours. She will be studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths in the 6th Form.
Sami achieved an exceptional 9 in English Language, English Literature and Maths, as well as 8s in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Sociology. He returns to Bishop Douglass 6th Form to study Maths, Chemistry and Psychology.
Praising her teachers for their support and helping her achieve her goals, Tay celebrated her results 887765555 and she has big ambitions of a career in Media at University but is first looking forward to Bishop Douglass 6th Form to continue her success
