Jack Petchey
A group of our Year 10 pupils had the opportunity to take part in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge. This is the UK’s largest youth speaking competition, delivered by Speakers Trust with support and funding from the Jack Petchey Foundation.
Pupils learnt about the public speaking triangle, and a range of different tools and techniques to help develop their skills. Throughout the day there were different opportunities to practice speaking and presenting and all pupils received a certificate of participation.
This programme has been highly impactful for our pupils; 76% of the group now feel more confident to 'stand up' and talk to a group of people and 86% said that the workshop has helped them realise they can succeed at new things. Thank you @JPFoundation for your encouragement.
