Black History Month
In the month of October, we observed Black History Month at Bishop Douglass.
Pupils gained incredible insights, learnt new knowledge and took away meaningful lessons, and we would like to thank all of those who contributed to talks and online sessions.
On Monday, Mr Manley led a conversation on culture and tradition, whilst on Tuesday we learnt more about the Role of Black Women by Madame Lowdell. Wednesday saw Mr Cronin lead a Football Talk, whilst Dr Kishore delivered a Black History Month Special on Thursday. On Friday, pupils learnt more about Influential Individuals from Mr Harris, with selected students taking part in individualised sessions, including Why Study Mathematics and Make Up and the Skincare Industry.
Across the week, students participated in an array of competitions and produced outstanding work. Take a look below!
